US Commander, Navy Installations is Hiring an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (OA) Near Chesapeake, VA

Duties

  • You will gather, analyze, and present written and oral data to relay information.
  • You will review travel authorizations and vouchers to ensure compliance with business rules, regulations, and budget execution.
  • You will coordinate with personnel to schedule briefings or meetings.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing database software to enter and extract information; 2) Coordinating travel through a web based travel system according to regulations; 3) Using automated systems (e.g. Microsoft Office 365) to produce documents, reports, presentations, etc.; and 4) Communicating with personnel/customers by phone or email to assist with questions or provide information.

SKILLED IN WRITTEN COMMUNICATION.
KNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH GRAMMER ADN USAGE, FORMAT, AND PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS.

SKILLS IN OPERATING A COMPUTER AND VARIOUS SOFTWARE PACKAGES (I.E. MICROSOFT OFFICE, INTERNET BROWSERS, ETC.)
KNOWLEDGE OF PROCEDURES FOR TRAVEL AND TRAINING.
KNOWLEDGE OF PROCEDURES FOR TIMEKEEPING AND ATTENDANCE REPORTING.
KNOWLEDGE OF THE DOD PURCHASE CARD PROGRAM (NAF).
KNOWLEDGE OF PROCEDURES INVOLVED IN AUTOMATED APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING SYSTEM(S).
